For an outdoor railing, we recommend the synthetic hemp rope diameter 26mm, 28mm, 30mm, 36mm, 40mm or 46mm. This rope is rot-proof, moisture resistant and UV treated.

The rope used in the photos below is in diameter 28mm.

For indoor installation, you can use polished hemp rope (natural) or synthetic hemp rope.

Note that the natural hemp rope has a slight odor that fades over time.

For a handrail/stair railing, take a rope of 26mm, 28mm or 30mm.

For a guardrail, take a rope of diameter 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 36mm, 40mm or 46mm.

Our ropes can be used for star railings, balustrades, mezzanine security or guardrail.

Polyester ropes have excellent abrasion resistance, very good knot holding and low elongation.

Polyester rope is water repellent and do not lose their strength when wet. It is non-floating. It is resistant to moisture.

Polyester has excellent UV resistance. It is ideal for long-term outdoor exposure.

Polyester fiber is resistant to mites, bacteria, mold, mineral and organic acids, oxidants and diluted alkalis.

It is sensitive to strong alkalis, some phenols, benzyl acetate and nitrobenzene.

The thermal properties of polyester ropes are as follows: 

• Critical temperature: ± 180°C
• Melting temperature: ±  260°C
• Smell of hot oil with flame, black smoke
• Flame-retardant

Historically, "halyard" is the maritime name for a braided rope generally used to hoist a barge, horn or sail.

Now, the name "halyard" has been generalized to all types of synthetic braided cord and its field of application has been extended to industry, events and crafts.

The core of a halyard is the cord inside the braid that allows it to be round and reinforced. Independent of the outer braid, it can be removed manually. The core can be braided or parallel.

Beyond its material (polyester, nylon, polypropylene, polyethylene), a halyard is defined by the braiding of its core.

A pre-stretched cord has undergone a factory pre-stretch process to greatly limit its elongation during use.

Thermofixing is a pre-stretch performed at 100°C to improve compaction and stabilization of the fibers. This process improves the mechanical properties and life of a rope. It is reserved for high-end ropes for demanding uses.

The ideal dimensions for your mezzanine net will depend on the size of your structure and the chosen net range.

Your net should be 10 to 15% shorter than the structure so that it is perfectly stretched and well-stretched in the long run.

The installation of a mezzanine net is done in 3 major steps: 

1 - Screw a eye bolt every 20cm.

2 - Position your net in the center of the structure using serflex.

3 - Use a braided rope to connect the net and eye bolt. For safety, apply the double lacing technique by lacing your net with two ropes that cross each other.

You will need bindings and rope.

Wood-mounted:

• Eye bolts with wood thread or Square pad eye

Concrete Fixture:

• Concrete anchor bolt hook

Exemple : Pour un cadre de 2 x 3m, il y aura besoin de :

• 50 fixations
• 18m de corde
